Rock City Enchanted Pumpkin Patch 2025

The Gourd-eous Getaway: Why You Need to Visit Rock City’s Enchanted Pumpkin Patch!

The leaves are turning, the air is crisp, and if you're like my family, you're on the hunt for that perfect slice of fall magic. Well, look no further! Last weekend, we took our daughter to the Rock City Enchanted Pumpkin Patch as a birthday experience for her, and let me tell you it was more than just charming; it was gourd-eous!

If you’re wondering if this seasonal spectacular is worth the trip up Lookout Mountain, here’s why you need to mark your calendar, grab the kiddos, and visit this incredible autumn experience.

🎃 Why This Patch is a Must-Do for Families

You’ve seen a pumpkin patch before, but Rock City takes the concept and sprinkles it with a thick layer of fairy dust. It’s not just a place to pick a squash; it’s a full-blown immersive adventure that transforms the already stunning "See Rock City" trail.

The entire park glows at night, with thousands of twinkle lights, fancy displays, and animated scenes that make the experience feel like stepping into a storybook. It’s the perfect blend of the natural beauty of the rock formations and the joyful, kid-friendly wonder of Halloween. Simply put, it’s a high-quality, high-fun family tradition in the making. On top of all that fun stuff - there are all kinds of kids activities like face painting, pumpkin decorating, and more! (additional costs will apply for these activities.)

🌟 Our Top 3 Must-See Highlights!

The Rock City Enchanted Pumpkin Patch is packed with things to see, but after a full day of exploring, these three features stood out as the absolute best:

1. The Fairy Garden Transformation

If you've ever walked through the iconic Fairyland Caverns and Mother Goose Village, prepare to be amazed. They've given the whole place an autumnal makeover, complete with little pumpkin people, glowing gourds, and enchanting new characters. It’s a fantasy like, glowing journey that feels truly magical and is an instant hit with the little ones.

2. The Festival Field Pumpkin Extravaganza

This is the heart of the "patch" experience! The wide-open Festival Field is absolutely bursting with every size, shape, and color of pumpkin you can imagine. Look for the massive, elaborately carved pumpkin displays, the fun photo backdrops, and the sheer number of jack-o'-lanterns that light up the night. It's the perfect spot to slow down, snap some priceless family photos, and soak in the festive atmosphere.

3. The Dancing/Singing Trees

As you wind your way through the trails, keep an eye (and an ear!) out for the trees that seem to come alive! This display features fun, animated tree faces and sometimes even full-body silhouettes that sing and tell tales of the season. It’s a hilarious and slightly spooky sight that everyone in our family stopped to watch—and rewatch!

💡 3 Tips to Make the Most of Your Visit

To ensure your family trip is as fantastic as possible, here are three essential tips we learned the hard way (so you don't have to!):

1. Go Right Before Sunset

The Rock City trails are gorgeous during the day, but the true "Enchanted" magic happens after dark. Aim to arrive about an hour or an hour and a half before the scheduled sunset time. This allows you to walk the main trails and see the amazing views in daylight, and then watch the entire park light up in the pumpkin glow as twilight settles in. Trust us, the view from Lover's Leap in the twilight is stunning.

We actually arrived at 6:00PM with sunset happening around 6:45. We stayed until closing at 9PM and did the entire trek 2x, which included a 30-minute dinner break.

2. Dress in Layers (and Wear Sturdy Shoes!)

Lookout Mountain can get chilly when the sun goes down, even in early fall. Bring a light jacket, and maybe even a hat. More importantly, Rock City is all about walking on stone paths and up and down steps. Do not wear cute, flimsy shoes! Sturdy sneakers or boots are a must for comfort and safety.

3. Know Your Food Plan

The food lines can get long, especially during peak dinner hours (right after dark). If you have hungry kids, eat a late lunch or plan on grabbing a snack before you go in. Alternatively, scope out the food stations first and grab a meal immediately upon entering before the crowds pile up later in the evening.

When we ate dinner, many of the menu items were already sold out, and they were running out of drinks and silverware. I did manage to snag a plate of brisket and mashed potatoes for $18. Honestly, it wasn’t that amazing. But decent. We also got the last cup of sweet tea.

HOW TO SAVE MONEY!

For our family of 3 to go, the cost was going to be $68 before taxes. Right now (Sept 2025) they’re already selling 2026 Season passes at a discount for $199 and they’re effective immediately. If you have a family of 3 and go 3 times in the next 14 months, you’ll be saving money. I know that we will be going for Christmas 2025, and then Halloween and Christmas 2026 as well - so we opted for the family pass which includes 2 named adults and up to 4 children.

One thing to keep in mind is the Christmas experience is more expensive and runs $107 for a family of 3 during the weekend. Keeping that in mind, the Annual Pass is a much better value!

Note that Annual Pass holders get numerous additional benefits that regular ticket purchasers do not, including:

  • Includes 2 named adults and any 4 children (ages 3-12)

  • Purchase Bring-a-Friend Tickets (daytime only) $10 off advertised prices

  • One free guided tour per person(reservations required)

  • Family Passholders can add additional specified members for $64 each

  • Save 15% on Food and Retail at Rock City (alcohol items and Starbucks not included)

  • Save 15% Clumpies Ice Cream Co. purchases (in-store purchases only)

  • Save 15% on Chanticleer Inn stays

  • Unlimited daytime visits valid now through 12/31/2026

  • Includes all Enchanted Garden of Lights nights!

  • Includes all Enchanted Pumpkin Patch nights!

  • $10 prints (per print) and $10 digital photos at Storibox Souvenir Photos

  • 10% off at Massey's Kitchen on Lookout Mountain. (Valid on food only)

  • 15% off at Chattanooga Ducks

  • 15% off at Southern Belle Riverboat Tours

  • 15% off at Puckett's Restaurant in Downtown Chattanooga

🌟 Conclusion: A New Fall Tradition

If you’re looking for the ultimate autumn family memory, the Rock City Enchanted Pumpkin Patch delivers on all fronts. It’s an imaginative, beautiful, and delightfully spooky experience that turns a beloved natural wonder into a seasonal masterpiece. Go for the views, stay for the glow, and leave with a camera roll full of photos and a heart full of fall cheer! It's officially our new favorite holiday tradition, and we can’t wait to see it again next year!
