A Rainy and Joyful Celebration:
Katie & Phil’s Wedding at Burritt on the Mountain; Huntsville Alabama

On May 24, 2025, I had the honor of filming Katie and Phil’s wedding day—a celebration full of laughter, love, and a bit of rain. The entire day felt like a sweet blend of excitement and emotion, set against the backdrop of one of Huntsville’s most scenic venues, Burritt on the Mountain.

The day began at Embassy Suites near Big Spring Park, where Katie and her bridesmaids got ready. The room was full of energy—music playing, friends laughing, and a few happy tears here and there. One of the highlights of the morning was Scout, Katie and Phil’s dog, joining in the fun. He loved all the attention!

Outside, the skies were heavy with clouds, and rain lingered throughout the day. Everyone was a little anxious, pacing and checking the weather apps, but Katie’s excitement never wavered. She was ready—rain or shine—to marry the love of her life.

By some stroke of luck, the rain paused just long enough for the outdoor ceremony to begin. Guests took their seats overlooking the mountain view, umbrellas in hand just in case. About a halfway through the vows, the sky opened up again and the rain came down. But no one moved. Guests stayed put, umbrellas popping open in unison, quietly cheering on the couple as they kept going with huge smiles on their faces. It wasn’t the dry ceremony they’d envisioned—but it was beautiful, heartfelt, and unforgettable.

The rain didn’t slow anything down. The reception was packed with dancing, laughter, and some seriously good music, thanks to an FJ Nash who knew how to read the crowd. From old-school classics to dance floor anthems, the party didn’t let up.

Katie and Phil’s wedding day wasn’t perfect in the traditional sense - but it was absolutely perfect for them. It was a reminder that joy doesn’t wait for perfect conditions. Sometimes the best moments happen in the middle of a downpour, surrounded by the people you love most.
