How I Shot It - Abrianna and Brilynn

Every year, I find myself in this upper area of the Clock Tower at Union Station. The architecture and layout make it conducive to some fun photos. The idea for shooting was alter egos and super hero styles in a sense. We were a little crunched for time on this one so I kept it simple with a 24x+36 softbox on a Manfrotto Nano Stand with an AD 200.

For this next set of images I did get out 2 more Godox TT600’s and use Magmod Gels to add some color to the scene. Also did a little different creative editing style on them. The shot of Brilynn was lit like the wide shots above with one flash in a softbox. The shot of Abrianna was shot with an AD200 handheld by me with a Gelled AD200 on the floor behind her. This is because other folks were photographing Brilynn while I was shooting Abrianna at this time and I wanted to keep shooting.

Finally they paired up and we got a few fun shots that I did a little different editing on as well.

For the “punching and jumping” one that’s lit with the softbox in the same position as the wide shots but I added 2 AD200’s with gels on the sides to throw some color on it.

For the “hair pulling” I didn’t like the way it was editing with the colors, so I went contrasty black and white. Lit with the same way as the wide shot, but I just got in closer.
